Coming in hot at country 4/198: Belize 🇧🇿 A count Coming in hot at country 4/198: Belize 🇧🇿

A country where people start a conversation in English, respond in Spanish, and close with Belizean Creole. How they are able to switch between languages so fluently is something spectacular to experience.

Belize is small in population but huge geographically. There was so much ground to cover, I didn’t know where to start.

Seeing I had booked only one week and was trying to accomplish a lot, I had to really decide on one area where I wanted to go.

Did you know Belize had islands off the coast of the country? 🏝️Yea, I didn’t know that.

My intentions were for the Mayan ruins. That’s the only thing I wanted to do there. Somehow, I ended up on one of those islands for 2 weeks and still haven’t seen the Mayan ruins lol.

I think it’s safe to say, I’ll be back😉

**Fun Fact:** The Belizean Creole is very similar to the Jamaican Creole, and a lot of people there have relatives and ancestors of Jamaican descent.

Are you curious to see what Belize is like, how the people talk, and what to expect when going there?

One of my favourite things to do when I travel to One of my favourite things to do when I travel to a new country, is walking around the area to see where everything is located.

I love and prefer slow travel, so when I get to a place, I’m there for at least two weeks to a month.

Walking around for two weeks, looking like a tourist, is not for me.

Therefore, I normally on the first day, I would walk around and look for places like the supermarket, cambio (where you change money), a gym (for obvious reasons), a laundromat, nearby restaurants and things to do.

Once I scout the place out on the first day, the next day? Baby, I’m a local. I move like I belong there. At this point, I can give directions.

Cultural Explore Pro Tip: When you travel to a new city or country, scout the place out on the first day (if you can), to have an idea where things are, so you don’t look like a tourist or an easy target.

One of my Mexico highlights has to be the spot thi One of my Mexico highlights has to be the spot this country is famous for; Chichen Itza and the ancient Mayan sites.

Sure, they’re not hidden gems, but honestly? They deserve every bit of fame. And trust me, once you’re there, you’ll see why.

One of the new wonders of the world. Though heavily swamped by tourists and vendors selling everything under the sun; these things don’t take away from it’s beauty.

Walking through these ruins, I felt the weight of history and the genius of the Mayan civilization. Every stone, every step had a story to tell and it hit me: some places aren’t just beautiful… they stay with you.

To this day, I’m still trying to figure out how they built all this infrastructure without any “official” schooling.

This place is definitely a place to visit at least once in your lifetime.
Definitely bucket list worthy. 🌎✨

3/198 Countries: Mexico 🇲🇽 Oh Mexico! Mi corazón! 3/198 Countries: Mexico 🇲🇽

Oh Mexico! Mi corazón!

This is one of my favourite countries. Every time I go, I don’t want to leave.

Mexico was my third country and the place where met people as adventurous as I was.

A country of rich colours, deep culture, and ancient stories.

The country is so big I didn’t know where to start. The more I did an activity the more things I saw to do.

Mexico is where history and modern life move side by side; from ancient ruins and colonial streets to lively markets and vibrant cities.

And don’t get me get started on the food. It’s where I’ve had some of the best street food.

It’s also where I got the worse stomach bug, but that’s a story for another day. Lol

The food tells stories passed down for generations, the music fills the air with life, and the warmth of the people makes you feel welcome instantly.

Every corner feels alive.
Every experience leaves a mark.

The culture is unmatched and has influenced so many other cultures. I still have a long bucket list within that country.

Mexico isn’t just a destination, it’s a feeling you carry with you.

Definitely one of my favs. 🌍✨

One of my USA🇺🇸 highlight tours took me to Donner One of my USA🇺🇸 highlight tours took me to Donner Lake, California, a place known for both its breathtaking beauty and powerful history. To top it off, the air there is so fresh and clean.

The area is connected to a lot of stories. Some great ones and some not so great ones:
It’s very close to Squaw Valley (now Palisades Tahoe) the place where the 1960 Winter Olympics was held.Known for it’s long list of out re-creational activities like skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, scenic trams, winter hikes and so much more.
I also can’t miss one of the not so great stories and ultimately how it got it’s name “Donner” from the “Donner-Reed Party”.

Despite it’s dark past, standing there reminded me how far people can push through challenges, and how every journey, even the hardest ones, shapes a story worth telling.

Beyond the history, the calm waters, mountain views, and fresh air made it a place of reflection and appreciation.

A reminder that strength is built in the journey, that every path we walk is shaped by resilience. 🌲🏔️✨
